Panini Sandwich Recipes

DeLonghi Retro Collection Panini Grill, Black & Stainless Steel

Panini’s are all the rage right now and with good reason; panini’s pack a punch of flavor!  In case you’ve been missing out, and don’t really know what a panini is, a panini is simply a grilled Italian sandwich.   You can find paninis for sale right alongside the hamburgers at most restaurants now-a-days but to me the best panini’s are the ones you make at home.

There is no right or wrong way to make a panini.  You simply make a sandwich out of your favorite ingredients and grill it.   I do recommend that your panini contain some variety of cheese though.  I mean what’s a panini without the delicious drippy cheese?

Although I find using a panini press produces the most appetizing looking paninis, you can always just use an ordinary fry pan.  Just be careful when you flip ‘em.  Another alternative way to make a great panini is to use that old George Foreman grill that you already have.

Visit my Best Panini Sandwich Recipes where you’ll find my favorite panini recipes, links to even more great panini recipes, ideas for using panini’s as appetizers, and inspirational panini photos.  There’s even a spot where you can share your own panini recipes.

Have fun making your paninis!

About the Panini Grill pictured above:

DeLonghi Retro Collection Panini Grill, Black & Stainless Steel

DeLonghi combines the cooking trends of today with retro design in this gleaming Italian sandwich maker. Softly rounded edges are handsomely paired with easy-to-clean, nonstick stationary cooking plates that provide two-sided grilling of favorite Panini combinations. The wattage is high to speed cooking time; an adjustable thermostat lets you customize the level – a lower temperature so cheese thoroughly melts or higher for a quick crisp of the bread. The hinged door adjusts in height to accommodate thin slices of sourdough or thick squares of focaccia. And for the health-conscious, little or no oils are absorbed thanks to the cooking plates that slant forward for oil or butter to drain into built-in channels. Other features include power-on and ready lights and a wrap-around cord. When not in use, the unit fastens shut and stands upright for convenient storage – though as delicious as these sandwiches are, this panini maker may very well end up a permanent fixture on your kitchen countertop.
