A Review of Entenmann’s Big Book Of Baking

I don’t share very many cookbook reviews here because we have so many awesome recipes available online at Squidoo.com but this cookbook is different. Entenmann’s Big Book of Baking contains recipes that you really can’t find online because they’re from the people who bake all the Entenmann’s goodies available for sale at your local grocery store.

The hard cover high quality Entenmann’s cookbook  is half homemade baking recipe book and half “Almost Homemade” recipe book because it shares creative uses for turning some of Entenmann’s most popular desserts into extraordinary creations that you’d be proud to serve to anyone.  It’s full of remarkable images of each recipe that will have you drooling on the pages.

I’ve written a review of my newest favorite cookbook.

Visit Entenmann’s Big Book of Baking  at Squidoo to read more of what I think of this terrific dessert cookbook.

Or visit Barnes and Noble to learn more and purchase a copy of this yummy cookbook for yourself.

Fresh Herbs

Cooking with Fresh Herbs

Fresh Herbs, more often than not, are preferred over dried herbs when cooking recipes.   The problem is that many people balk at the thought of cooking with fresh herbs because they think it’s too much trouble to prepare them.  That’s just a rumour being spread by cooks who aren’t in the know.  The truth is, preparing fresh herbs is easy when you know a few tricks and have the right tools on hand.

Visit Cooking with Herbs for easy ( illustrated) instructions about properly preparing fresh herbs for cooking.  You’ll also find useful tips for cooking with fresh herbs and a handy conversion guide to help you replace dried herbs with fresh ones in all of your recipes.

A helpful tool for chopping fresh herbs is a Mezzaluna.   The Mezzaluna knife originated in Europe and is quickly gaining popularity in the States.  I’ve featured one here for you to take a look at.  I have to admit that I don’t own one yet so I can’t give a true review, but I can tell you that a Mezzaluna is next up on my kitchen gadget wish list!

Oil-Finished Twelve-Inch Chopping Bowl and Mezzaluna Knife Set - Cooks Foodies

Oil-Finished Twelve-Inch Chopping Bowl and Mezzaluna Knife Set

The chopping bowl set featured above is brought to you from a unique store that I’ve just discovered called Bellacor.  Bellacor offers customers the ability to browse their displayed items or choose a personal customized shopping approach through their Personal Shopper Service.  If you haven’t visited there yet, I suggest you take a few minutes to go window browsing.  They truly have some awesome things there.

Click here to visit Bellacor now.

The mezzaluna and chopping bowl set is great for chopping garlic, herbs and vegetables. The bowl makes chopping much easier and neater than using a full sized cutting board. The set features an oil-finish and comes with one 12” chopping bowl and one Mezzaluna knife. -Made in the U.S.A.

You’ll find more information about using the Mezzaluna and a great selection of Mezzaluna products by visiting my Mezzaluna page at Squidoo.
